June Highlights
Fishing in New Mexico
As summer approaches, fishing conditions in New Mexico are heating up. Tomorrow, we’re heading back to the lake for a bass and walleye trip, with some catfishing included. The southern lakes are becoming more active, and the high-country rivers are clearing up as the runoff decreases.
June is a particularly exciting time because of the stonefly hatch. This large, visible fly is a favorite among anglers for fly fishing, and it attracts a lot of fish. The hatch is active through June into early July, providing excellent fishing opportunities, especially on the Pecos River, just a short drive from Santa Fe.
